Magkakapatid
Three of the most sought actresses in the country will top-bill a must-see movie this 2011.
During his recent birthday celebration, talent manager Alfie Lorenzo confirmed as early as now that actress Judy Ann Santos, Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo will star in a film together.
Following Cuneta and Santos’ 2002 movie “Magkapatid” and Santos and Geronimo’s “Hatingkapatid,” Lorenzo revealed that the film will be titled “Magkakapatid.”
The talent manager also told ABS-CBN News that “Magkakapatid” will be one of the official entries to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in December.

Magic Moments Sarah and Martin
That Martin-Sarah magic
It’s easy to think Martin Nievera looks at Sarah Geronimo as the daughter he wish he had. He dreams big for her. And he thinks she can do no wrong.
"Sarah is very talented. She has a great sense of humor, humility and responsibility," he gushes. "I can actually be her dad."
Martin is referring to the fact that his two sons, Robin and Ram, happen to be Sarah’s age.
Now that they’re paired together for the first time in the Valentine concert "What Love Is" on Saturday, Feb. 12, 8 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum, Martin can’t contain his excitement.
"It’s another beautiful challenge in my career," he relates. "I’m really preparing for this."
The Concert King is studying The Pop Princess’ repertoire and figuring out which of her songs he can sing during the show. A Justin Bieber, he muses, won’t be that bad. Just don’t make him dance, Martin goes on. His younger, more agile co-performer can do that.
Sarah, on the other hand, listens to everything "Sir Martin" tells her. If Martin wants her to do a Michael Buble, "Be My Lady" and all those ballads he’s known for, she will.
She nods when Martin said she would do well to perform with the orchestra "to take her craft to the next level."
He is, after all, someone she looks up to, not only as a singer, but as a person.
Discover the Martin-Sarah magic even more in "What Love Is," directed by Rowell Santiago and produced by Viva Concerts with Louie Ocampo as musical director.
After the concert, Sarah will continue doing her album under Viva and now doing "Just the Way You Are," tentative title of her movie with Gerald Anderson and Matteo Guidecelli. It is slated for a March playdate.
Tickets to "What Love Is" are priced at P4,000 (Patron A), P3,500 (Patron B and Lower Box), P1,500 (Upper Box A), P1,000 (Upper Box B) and P400 (General Admission). For details, call Viva Concerts at 687-7236 or Ticketnet at 911-5555.

An unlikely pair, but a good singing team. That’s Sarah Geronimo and Martin Nievera who are humming a pre-Valentine gig on the 12th of February.
This is the first time the 23-year old singer is teaming up with the Valentine concert king Martin Nievera.
While Sarah Geronimo strikes you as all sugar and spice and everything nice, exactly what Martin Nievera thought so, too, until he met her during a meeting for What Love Is that will be staged at the Araneta Coliseum.
Martin got the biggest surprise of his life.
“Sarah is an old soul,” Martin reveals. “When I went to the meeting for the concert, she was there, choosing our repertoire. And I thought all along the one standing there giving ideas was Louie Ocampo (the show’s musical director)!”
Sarah says Martin—sir Martin to her—hit the nail right on the head. Yes, she’s an old soul, Sarah admits.
“I love songs that talk about forever.”
She’s not just talking about songs young people like her are expected to sing, like Justin Bieber types, but good old reliable ballads identified with Martin. Think Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, even Broadway.
Martin is convinced Sarah can give his all-time hit “Be My Lady” a totally fresh, captivating take.
“My dream is for her to sing with an orchestra and go to the next level,” gushes Martin.
Martin, for his part, is not above interpreting Sarah’s songs in his own suave way. For instance, he’s open about doing a Bieber.
“Sarah can teach me new songs,” he explains. “And so I’m tickled pink working with her.”
If Sarah can teach him new songs, can Martin give Sarah tips on falling in love?
Martin laughs. “His track record shows he’s not the go-to person for that,” Martin says.
Even if their concert is all about love?
The answer is yes. But Martin promises “the audience will know what love is at the end of the concert.”
“There’s a right time for love,” Sarah muses. “The guy must learn how to talk to my parents.”
